Marysol Patton, Real Housewife of Miami, has been doing some traveling this summer. Recently, she attended Nene's wedding in Atlanta, and this holiday week, she's taking some well deserved R&R in the Hamptons! Looks like she's having a great time with Purveyors of Pop, producers of many of the Housewives shows, and some other housewives! Ana Quincoces, Celebrity Chef, Author, and Real Housewives of Miami Star, flew out to LA this past week to visit her daughter, who works for E News! While in LA, Ana visited some of her cast mates, hiked (I see why she looking so good these days), and hung around with a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills! I don't know about you, but even though Ana is only returning as a "friend", I'm awaiting her arrival back for Real Housewives of Miami Season 3! Make sure that you are following Ana on Twitter @AnaQooks (Photos courtesy of Ana) Congrats on your daughters success Ana! Every time Bravo introduces a new show, I don't know whether to cringe or to be filled with excitement! The same was with the announcement of Married to Medicine.
We all have our favorites, or the ladies that we find ourselves "attached" too. Attached as in admiration, or someone we can relate too. Kari Wells, was the one that intrigued me!
Kari was born in a small town in Yorkshire, England. Her father came from British and Italian heritage and was a hard-working engineer and a strict disciplinarian. Her mother was a home-maker, and she came from many generations of perfect British ladies. Growing up the youngest of a large family, she learned early on how to get along with others.
She was trained in ballet and loved to dance. When she turned 16, her dance instructor was instrumental in Kari getting accepted into the Royal Acadamy of Dance (RADA) in London. Kari has done everything from dancing, sales marketing, and modeling!
And now today, Kari still models, is a published author, a Dr.'s wife, and teaches women how to manage their lives!
I had a chance to speak to Kari and would like to share this inspirational interview with you.
Your lips! Seems to be a topic of conversation. I think that you are beautiful, but everyone seems to judge them. Did you experience this type of negativity about them while growing up? If so, what values and morals have you instilled in your children about others physical imperfections?
Yes, I have always been teased and made fun of. My nick name at school was "Jagger lips". Kids would say that you could stick me to a window with my mouth. Quite funny. Since then It was never an issue I modeled and got paid for my looks. At the beginning of the show I confessed to Mariah that I was a little insecure about my lips. I have a scar on one side and it sticks out slightly. She is the one who first put it out there in an attempt to try to hurt me. It is so middle school. Very childish. I just laugh now as I have grown to love the way I look. Faults and all. I teach my children to love and accept themselves no matter how they look. The reason I wrote my children's book " The Pink Monkey" was to teach acceptance and tolerance of others. We are all the same on the inside and beauty fades, you better be happy with who you are as person. I teach that to my children.
Why did you decide to do the show?
I decided to do the show as I thought it would be an amazing platform to make great things happen. I am involved in various charities and inspirational organizations for girls and young women, I thought that by doing the show I could bring awareness to my causes.
What have you learned from the experience? About others, and about yourself?
I have learned that women can be very catty. I have learned that you are held accountable for EVERYTHING that you say and I have learned that not everyone gets my British sense of humor.
Who you do the show again after this experience?
We will have to see. I certainly will not do it if it is just going to be a bunch of whining middle school mean girls blaming eachother That is not who I am or what I stand for and it is certainly not what I signed up for. We will have to see who and where the cast is for next season. I am all about forgiveness, so I overlook a lot of peoples mistakes, but at the same time I will not waste my time or energy on petty drama. It is insane the way these ladies act and I was appalled that I got dragged into it.
Who do you admire most?
On the cast or in the world? In the world I am inspired by Bono from U2 and Angelina Jolie. They have used their fame to do great things. Bringing awareness to their charities and causes. Saving lives. Fame is a platform that should be used for greatness. On the cast I admire Jackie, as she has been able to stay out of all of the bickering and arguing, but even she lost it with Mariah on the reunion show. Mariah has that way to taking you to a place that you never want to go. All of the worst parts of yourself start to surface, it is not a good thing.
Tell us about your book- Pink Monkey... What is it about? And what inspired you to write it?
I love to read to my children and I love to make up stories to teach and inspire them. "The Pink Monkey" was one of these stories. I wrote it to teach my two children tolerance and acceptance. It is a great story for any child who is different in any way, or for parents who want to inspire kindness in their children. I love to make people feel good about themselves.
Make sure to check out Kari's book on Amazon. You can also connect with Kari on Twitter @Kariwells_ or visit her website at http://www.kariwells.com/
During Part I of the reunion on Sunday, May 26 at 9pm ET/PT, the ladies discuss everything from the altercation between Mariah and Toya, arrest records and deceiving divas. Pulses start peaking when a surprise guest crashes this party.
In Reunion Part II, airing on Tuesday, May 28 at 9pm ET/PT, the women continue to battle it out when a surprise guest joins the ladies. Mariah's mom Lucy steps into the ring and confronts Toya on her behavior. Simone ties to mend her friendship with Mariah, but Mariah has another flame to put out when Kari's loose lips get in the way.
Following the two-part reunion, on Tuesday, June 4 at 9pm ET/PT, the network will air a “Secrets Revealed” special which will feature never-before-seen footage from the past season. Produced by FremantleMedia North America and developed by Purveyors of Pop with Matt Anderson, Nate Green and Maty Buss serving as Executive Producers.

Happy 4th of July, you’re fired! That’s what Paula Deen told her agent of more than a decade, Barry Weiner yesterday! Paula Deen has separated from her agent,” the embattled chef’s rep said in a statement Thursday. “She and her family thank him for the tireless effort and dedication over the many years.” Happy 4th of July, you’re fired! ~DISCLAIMER~ I am NOT responsible for anyone's poor behavior on camera! For some reason, I feel the need to explain the last episode of The Jorge Show which aired this past Friday night. I won't ever regret what I said, but I do feel an explanation is warranted. The Real Housewives of Miami are back! And it looks better than ever! Bravo released the promo last Monday, which sparked tons of tweets and stories this past week. Two rivals get married, The Mayor (Lea) gets into it with all of the ladies, and two Housewives demoted (with one being an original). But, this is not what caught my eyes. I was sitting next to a good friend when I first watched the promotion. I literally turned as white as a ghost and started crying. I just could not believe my eyes. Someone with such stature, decorum, and someone who is suppose to be a "lady" was grinding on an unknown man! Maybe I didn't really see that! Maybe my eyes were tired. I had to watch again! Giving a lap dance to someone in Vegas is what we (my friend watched it with me the second time in disbelief) saw! I have to say, I wasn't impressed! Seeing her acting in a manner like this, literally made me sick! (Anyone that knows me, knows how much I adore Lea, but this is too much) Watch here: http://youtu.be/G2BGddcX-QA Later on Twitter.... I started seeing the tweets about Lea and her "misconduct"! Lea and her humping, grinding, lap dancing! I knew at that moment, she's never going to live this down. Friday night rolls around, and my #RealTalk about #RealHousewives of course is about the promo! Watch and see for yourself! It was our Season 2 Finale, and we went out with a BANG (literally)!!! Miami based photographer, Joey Mugica celebrated 2nd annual Color a Cause on May 29th, 2013 at The Hoxton located in the heart of Brickell. The event featured a fabulous red carpet and cocktail reception hosted by channel 6 personality Roxanne Vargas, along with singer Maryel Epps and music by DJ Crystal Anasari. The highlight of the night was the unveiling of twenty portraits by Joey Mugica in collaboration with Yobe photograph, called: “The Power 20” that focused on twenty of Miami’s most influential figures; individuals who have become part of the patchwork of our society. Among the “Power 20” were: Adora, Beth Sobol, Berta Bravo, Craig Stevens, Gerry Kelly, Hansell Leyva, James Cubby, Jammin Johnny, Jipsy, Lesley Abravanel, Malinka Max, Maryel Epps, Michael Gongora, Rey Casas, Stacy Russell, Tara Gilani, Tony Guerra and Viviana Gabeiras, and myself, Nikola Charpentier "The Bravo Mistress". This year’s charity beneficiary was Neat Stuff for Kids. Neat Stuff is a non profit organization that provides clothes, shoes, etc to abused and neglected children. http://www.neatstuffhelpskids.org The event was organized this year by Liza Santana and her amazing PR group, Creativas. All of the Power 20 were also given eyewear from Chris Anthony Signature Eyewear. Congrats to Joey and the rest of the Power 20! Also, special thanks to Joey for choosing me to be part of this fascinating event.
Married to Medicine hit Bravo like a storm from out of NOwhere! The ratings for the entire season were better than some of the Real Housewives ratings! Of course, I was entrigued and hooked from the first episode! I've had the pleasure to interview one of the stars of the show, Toya Bush Harris. Her answers were sweet, thoughtful, and genuine. Check it out here: BM: Now that the show is finished airing, tell us what's been going on in your busy life? Toya: Just to name a few...I Continue to volunteer and mentor young ladies around Atlanta. Working on relocating my family to a new home. Searching for an artist for my Nursery book series. Spend as much time with my boys as I can, because they'll be starting school soon.
BM: Why did you decide to do Married To Medicine? Toya: Decided I'd try it once and see if it would be a good source for putting away for my children's private school education.
BM: What did you learn about yourself during the process? Toya: I learned people can easily take your words and run in a totally different direction, its important to be very clear. I also learned having a tough skin helps in entertainment. It's crucial to know who you are going in, because people will create a character in you and believe what they want to believe.
BM: Would you do it again? Toya: If the money is right and it doesn't cause stress on my family, sure. Married to Medicine can only get better. One season doesn't give people a chance to really know you. BM: What is your favorite pastime activity? Toya: Family time, vacations near water and shopping. BM: If you can choose one person, dead or alive, to have dinner with, who would it be and why? Toya: Michelle Obama, she's a loving mother, supportive wife, education woman and the First Lady. Oprah too! She's intelligent, business savvy and full of good energy. I'd love to pick both their brains.
I'm sure everyone, like myself, is hoping for a second season of Married To Medicine! Make sure that you are following Toya on Twitter @Tweet_Toya
